Rules for Alumni Basketball Tournament
Games
1. |
Games will consist of 20 minute running halves and a five minute halftime. The clock will stop only for the whistle during the last two minutes of the second half. |

Shooting fouls and intentional fouls will be allowed the entire game. One-and-one fouls will be shot during the last two minutes of the second half only. | ||

Full court defense is not allowed after a made basket and dead ball situation until the last two minutes of the second half. | ||

Substitutions can only be made during a dead ball situation. | ||

Each team will receive one timeout to be used during the last two minutes of the game only. | ||

The three point line will be used. Both feet must be clearly behind the line when the shot goes up. Referee’s decision will be final. | ||

Each player will be allowed five fouls, after which he is eliminated from the game. If a player fouls out and his team has less than five players to play, he may continue to play, with each new foul resulting in two shots and the ball for the opposing team. | ||

Games tied at the end of regulation will go to a two minute overtime period. A coin toss will decide who gets the ball first. One time out is allowed to each team. No time out will carry over from regulation. If a second overtime is needed, the first team to score wins. Again, a coin toss decides who gets the ball first. All fouls will be two shot fouls. | ||

A player can participate on only one team. A participant my not play in any game until the waiver form is signed and the entry fee is paid. Failure to comply will result in suspension of remaining games and tourney for next year. | ||

Referees will be provided. Decisions of referees are final. | ||

If a player is bleeding, he must leave the court until the bleeding stops. | ||

Warm up basketballs will not be provided. Game balls will be provided. | ||
13.
|
The team with the oldest player gets the ball to start the game. | ||

|
Remember, the games and the tournament are to be played with good sportsmanship! |
